Merry Christmas!

We spent the month of December preparing our hearts for Christmas with Advent.  Here are a few shots from our Christmas lights adventure in a nearby town.  It was fun watching the kids run and play together as they explored with excitement.  IP even enjoyed looking at the lights.

Daddy, SLiM and McB looking up into the  trees filled with lights that look like leaves, some of them were made to appear to be falling like rain drops through the trees.

We spent a fun filled 4 day weekend, including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at
Granny and PawPaw's house.
Family photo on Christmas Eve

The local volunteer fire department made a special trip down Granny and PawPaw's long driveway to surprise a few grandkids.  One of the perks of living in a very small town:)  McB was just a bit excited about the truck...can you find him in the pic with santa?  He didn't even panic when the siren went off.

We watched cousin E and C perform in their Christmas Eve program at their church.
Blowing out the candles was the highlight of our Advent devotionals throughout the entire month.
Making a birthday cake for Jesus
Riding horses
These two, cousin C(blue tractor) and McB(red tractor), had a blast together.  They both have crazy imaginations.

Texas Weather;) 70's for most of the weekend and then REALLY cold  Christmas night.

We celebrated Christmas at home a day late.

Christmas presents from Momma and Daddy

Sweet Boy

The best part of the Christmas presents from Momma and Daddy was the boxes that they came in.  They have been used to build forts, tents, and houses.  The bean bags have been dubbed "food bags" by McB when he didn't quite remember the name of them.

2 Months

Moss Family Thanksgiving
The Moss cousins

Campfire and smores at KK & LL's house

These two were just a bit excited about going to cousin KK's house to have a camp-out in the living room under a sheet tent with Daddy and Uncle Jer.  This is McB's "hurry up and take the pic" pose.  You probably noticed in the "Moss cousins" pic above that he and SLiM were not exactly in a picture taking mood that weekend.

We had lots of fun decorating our home for Christmas.  It was done in stages this yr b/c of a little chaos around our house and a busy schedule this yr.  Our ornaments are not organized quite as well as they usually are b/c of two kiddos that had a great time deciding where they should hang them with a 2 month old supervising from his bouncer.

Here is a pic of a "tent" Mom made for the kids in the living room. McB corrected Mom and informed her that it was a "brown race car" and not a tent.

Here is a shot of McB and SLiM driving the brown race car.

Fun at the pumpkin patch with Granny and the cousins.

County fair with Daddy.  You may not be able to tell from the pic but Mom and Daddy let McB and SLiM ride a big kid ride.  The looks on their faces were shear terror and SLiM kept her "protective arm" across McB for the entire ride.  Neither cried but both were full of smiles when it ended safely.

Serious talk with Daddy and Big Bro.

Family of 5

IT's A BOY!

IP (we have not settled on a blog nickname yet, so we’ll call him IP for now) has finally arrived in normal Moss fashion…late…but only 7 days this time…we are getting better!  IP was born on 10/8/12 at 5:15pm, weighing 7 lb 15 oz and 20 ¼” of pure baby BOY.  After a false alarm on Saturday (momma’s contractions were 5 to 10 min apart, but quit by 4:30 am…yeah, it was a rough night for momma), we drove to the hospital Monday morning for our 7:30 appointment for our scheduled induction (actually, arrived at 7:40, my bad, but what did you expect).  We found out that IP had wrestled himself into a funny position, which is likely why the contractions had stopped on Saturday night.  By 1:00 Monday afternoon, the Pitocin had been started and contractions were well on their way. After walking around the hospital for a short while, active labor set in.  Our friend arrived around 5 to deliver, as things started to happen really fast and we soon exclaimed…”It’s a BOY!”  Becky was sustained with prayer and the strength of the Lord through her exhaustion, and successfully brought this beautiful baby into our arms and lives.  All praise belongs to the God of our salvation!  Please pray for Momma’s strength and recovery, and IP to grow strong and healthy.  Most importantly, pray that the Lord will be his salvation, as his name represents, God is my salvation.

"Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation." Isaiah 12:2 ESV - [2]
